The intensive rehab Lindsay Lohan checked into is the best place for her to get straight – but it’s going to take a lot longer than 90 days, experts say.The “Mean Girls” actress entered UCLA’s Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Westwood, Calif., on Monday, after 14 days in jail.”Ms. Lohan is not in a locked unit at the hospital,” her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, told RadarOnline.
“It’s a section of the hospital that treats normal people with various issues. … Her doctors are looking at what prescriptions she is taking, whether or not the dosages need to be increased, decreased or stopped.”
Britney Spears was successfully treated at the facility after her 2008 meltdown.”I think this is the first time she’s really getting serious professional help,” said Clare Waismann, administrative director of the Waismann Method, a rapid detox program. “For Lindsay to have a bright future, there’s a lot of work that has to be done, not just with her, but with her surrounding family.”
Drug-addiction specialists say the UCLA facility has a great reputation, but it can’t help the 24-year-old star unless she helps herself.”I think we have to be hopeful that she is getting the message that her life has to change, and she has to take her health seriously,” said Dr. John Sharp of Harvard Medical School and the UCLA School of Medicine. “The key ingredient is for her to buy into her need for treatment.”
