Ultram Precautions

Table of Contents

Doctors often prescribe opiates for patients seeking pain relief because of their reliability in fighting pain. They can be safe and effective but unfortunately carry some risks. Ultram is an opioid analgesic used to treat moderate to moderately severe, continuous pain. A doctor should prescribe Ultram only when he or she has determined the benefits outweigh the risks. It’s the patients’ responsibility to read labeling information carefully so they know exactly how to take the medication. Ultram can lead to habitual use over an extended period of time. A tolerance can develop with regular use and patients may need more and more to achieve pain-relieving effects. Misusing or abusing Ultram in any way can lead to serious problems including physical and psychological dependence, overdose and withdrawal. One of the most important precautions involves the combination of Ultram with other substances that depress the central nervous system. Severe respiratory distress or death can occur if patients mix Ultram with other opiates, alcohol, sleeping medicine, muscle relaxers, antidepressants, sedatives and some antidepressant medications.

Ultram May Not Be for Everyone

Some patients may not be able to take Ultram, including those who’ve been addicted to or abused drugs or alcohol. Some patients have reported seizures while on Ultram, even when taking the recommended dosage. The risk of convulsions may increase among patients with epilepsy, history of seizures and those who’ve had head trauma. Patients who should not use Ultram include those who are prone to addiction, those who are suicidal and those who’ve had emotional disturbances. Physical and psychological dependence, overdose and withdrawal are the biggest concerns when it comes to Ultram. Taking it in high doses or misusing it in other ways can cause these and other problems. Ultram withdrawal sets in once patients are physically addicted and they try to stop taking it suddenly. It can be very painful but the right medical detox can ensure comfort.

Ultram Detox Can Be Pain-Free and Quick

Waismann Method is considered the industry standard when it comes to opiate detox. Ultram detox is serious and should be undertaken by caring medical professionals. Our rapid opiate detoxification is known to be safe, effective, comfortable and humane. We use intravenous medicine to cleanse the Ultram from patients’ opiate receptors. During this, patients rest comfortably under general deep sedation while the procedure is performed in a hospital. Our caring and supportive medical staff monitors patients around the clock and our procedure speeds up withdrawal. This means painful symptoms such as nausea and strong cravings pass while patients are sedated. When patients awaken, they aren’t consciously aware that they have already experienced withdrawal. This allows for a humane and comfortable detox and eliminates degradation and suffering. Our total hospital stay is 3 to 6 days and patients can return home once discharged. Those who want to extend recovery can check into our ultra-private Domus Retreat for transitional living.
