Excerpt: Being in a serious relationship so soon after leaving rehab is a major no-no, says California-based drug addiction expert Claire Waismann, who estimates a better time from would be after being sober for six months.  “They’re both trying to recover and stay sober and are fighting their own demons,” Waismann, who has not treated Lindsay, tells Star.  “Now they’re combining their demons, so it makes their efforts twice as hard.”
And if things don’t work out for the couple, it could send them reeling back into addiction!  “Failed relationships cause relapses,” says Waismann.  “It’s the No. 1 reason I see with my patients.  They use it as a numbing device ]for] not being able to handle stress — and there is nothing more stressful than a relationship.
