Subutex Side Effects
Additional Information
Used to treat opioid dependence, Subutex is a prescription medication that can bring with it a host of side effects. These can range from mild to severe though each person’s experience with it could be different. It is used to prevent withdrawal symptoms but is a narcotic drug also, meaning it too can be habit-forming. Subutex is the brand name for buprenorphine. For some patients, side effects can take hold shortly after they begin use. For others, the onset may be delayed. In most cases, Subutex is prescribed because the benefits outweigh the risks of side effects. Many patients can take Subutex without experiencing more serious side effects. However, for some, regular use of Subutex can lead to physical and/or psychological addiction which requires an additional detox. Safe, rapid opiate detox that is medically administered can help patients become free of Subutex dependence in a very short amount of time.
Common and More Serious Subutex Side Effects
Some of the side effects associated with Subutex are: constipation, headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, drowsiness and vomiting. A doctor should be notified if any of these symptoms continue for extended periods or worsen. Serious side effects are more unlikely but they’re important to note: stomach or abdominal pain, mental or mood changes, slow or shallow breathing, vision changes, dark urine or yellowing of the eyes or skin. An allergic reaction, though it may be unlikely, is possible. Signs to watch for include trouble breathing, extreme dizziness, rash, itching or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. These are not the only side effects possible with Subutex. Individual patients can respond differently to the medication.
Waismann Method Offers Safe, Rapid Subutex Detox
In the majority of Waismann Method patients, addiction develops after legitimate use leads to the development of a tolerance. Patients may then begin to take more than what’s prescribed. This is not advised. Our program includes an in-hospital procedure that uses medication to cleanse Subutex from patients’ opiate receptors. They sleep lightly under anesthesia for a short time and awake without the conscious awareness of the withdrawal symptoms that occurred while they were out. We manage the withdrawal phase so effectively that patients can recover more quickly and thoroughly. Subutex addiction can be treated in a matter of days with our program, and patients can choose to move onto our Domus Retreat aftercare facility. Here, they can take advantage of therapeutic and spa services, continuing their recovery in a safe and supportive environment. Our Waismann Method and Domus Retreat programs are completely discreet so anonymity is always protected. There is no need to spend weeks or months in a detox or rehabilitation facility. Our procedure takes less than two hours and total hospital stay is a few days.
