Wisconsin Detoxification Information

Prescription drug abuse and addiction is a growing threat throughout the nation. The federal Drug Enforcement Administration said Wisconsin has a problem with diverted pharmaceuticals including opiates such as Vicodin, other products containing hydrocodone, OxyContin and other products containing oxycodone. The agency said in 2009 that diversion and abuse of methadone, Dilaudid and Percocet is also problematic. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner said in 2005 that more than half of drug-related deaths involved prescription opiates, either alone or in combination with other drugs. Diversion of pharmaceutical opiates around the country and in Wisconsin is a serious law enforcement problem. Many states, including Wisconsin, have developed a prescription drug-monitoring program to track and identify cases of doctor shopping and other means of diversion. The most common diversion tactics in the state are doctor shopping, forged prescriptions, illegal sale and distribution by healthcare workers and the Internet.

The Office of National Drug Control Policy says the number of drug overdoses in rural areas of the country is surpassing overdoses in urban areas. The problem is that many of these rural areas of Wisconsin don’t have adequate detox facilities to help people recover. Professional opiate detox can put patients on the track to an opiate-free life. Plenty of opiate detox and rehabilitation programs exist but not all of them adequately address the physical addiction. Waismann Method in southern California offers a detailed, medical opiate detoxification, serving people from around the world for more than a decade. We are widely known for the compassionate, humane way we treat this condition. Patients are treated individually to address specific concerns. We are known for our humane, compassionate approach to this condition.

Waismann Method

The Waismann Method uses rapid opiate detox called Accelerated Neuro-Regulation to eliminate addiction quickly and safely. Our comprehensive opiate treatment uses intravenous medication to cleanse the drugs from patients’ opiate receptors. We do this while patients are sleeping lightly under deep sedation. It takes less than two hours and the detox accelerates withdrawal symptoms. Nausea, tremors and other symptoms develop and pass while patients are sedated. They awaken without the awareness they’ve already passed through withdrawal. Patients typically stay in the hospital a total of 3 to 6 days and can return home once discharged. Others may choose to extend their healing at our Domus Retreat transitional living facility.
