Other methods used to obtain these pills illegally include pharmacy theft, employee theft and diversion by health care workers. The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy takes part in a prescription drug-monitoring program. This is a database that tracks patients’ prescription histories to cut down on diversion and abuse.
